Once you master these areas, you'll be well on your way to writing an argumentative essay that's strong and lively. Here are the five parts of the argumentative essay:
The first paragraph of your essay should start with a brief summary of your topic. You should use two or three short paragraphs to create a quick overview of your topic. In addition to being able to quickly summarize your topic, this paragraph is also a good place to introduce yourself to your readers, as well as to present what you expect them to get out of reading your essay. The second paragraph should present some facts about your topic. It should include the main information that will help your readers understand your topic. It can also be a place to introduce yourself to your readers, if you haven't been doing so yet. This is your opportunity to discuss both your views and your experience with the topic. The third paragraph should discuss your major points. It should include your opinion on the subject and how it relates to your readers. This paragraph is also your chance to cover the major points of your essay. It is a place to make the most persuasive points of your argument. The fourth paragraph is a direct link between the third and fourth paragraphs. It presents a few more links between your ideas and your readers. It will give your readers a sense of where your essay is headed and what needs to happen in order to get there. The fifth paragraph completes the flow of your essay. It provides your readers with a clearer view of your idea and lets them know where you're going. By showing your readers what your essay is about, this is a chance to introduce yourself and to establish your relationship with them. It is also a chance to make sure they know what's coming in the next paragraph. In addition to making sure you outline your first three paragraphs, you'll also want to include a paragraph that connects your main ideas to your first paragraph. This paragraph should focus on how your first paragraph is related to your main ideas. You can also include a paragraph that connects your main ideas to your main points in the third paragraph. When writing an argumentative essay, a good topic paragraph is the first part of your essay. In addition to helping you summarize your topic, it should be a place to focus your ideas and introduce yourself to your readers.
